Cultivation

However, this slow-growing, tall grain thrives in the Mediterranean climate of southern and middle Italy, where it is cultivated without chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or GMOs.

Named after Italian Senator Raffaele Cappelli, a key figure in early 20th-century agricultural reform, Senatore Cappelli wheat has remained true to its original genetic makeup. First selected in 1915 by agronomist Nazareno Strampelli, this wheat is only used for pure, traditional farming practices, offering a taste and texture that connect you to Italy’s agricultural roots.
